Attorney Profile

Katie L. Dearing is an experienced, AV rated trial and appellate attorney whose practice emphasizes litigation of cases in both state and federal courts. Ms. Dearing represents businesses and individuals from a wide range of industries throughout Florida in matters primarily relating to business and commercial litigation, professional liability defense, contract and insurance disputes, business torts, real estate litigation, and personal injury.

Ms. Dearing has repeatedly been selected by her peers for inclusion in the publication The Best Lawyers in America, the oldest and most respected peer rating service in the legal profession. Ms. Dearing has an “AV Preeminent” rating in the renowned Martindale-Hubbell legal directory, which is reserved for attorneys “whose peers rank them at the highest level of professional excellence,” and has been recognized by Super Lawyers (2011-2017) as one of the top attorneys in Florida, a distinction achieved by less than five percent of the lawyers in the state.

Ms. Dearing, a native of Jacksonville, received her law degree with honors, as well as her undergraduate degree, from the University of Florida, where her strong advocacy and writing skills earned her a position as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy. After law school, Ms. Dearing served as an Assistant State Attorney where she gained extensive jury trial experience in the prosecution of complex cases involving the use of forensic evidence, including murder and financial crimes.
